Job Description:

 Experienced Estimator -- Thame based -- £25,000 - £30,000 pa

We are looking for an Experienced Estimator who has the ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates. Candidates should be used to working in a busy office and enjoy working as part of a team.

Any experience of kitchen / bedroom costing would be helpful

Using you experience and knowledge you will be preparing detailed, competitive and cost estimates for new and existing clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints & technical documents: Accurately analyse & evaluate the detailed specifications; understand scope of work, investigate details, solve problems
  • Gathering quotes from suppliers
  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation
  • Monitor the stages of a project to make sure that costs & deadlines are adhered to. Work closely with other professionals including contractors, planners and architects
  • Liaise with other departments to agree / adjust pricing prior to quotation / tender submission, maintain up to date information and ensure accurate handover of projects to production
  • Assist with elements of supplementary documentation & presentations
  • Attend site, visit as required to gather information

Attributes / Experience

Qualifications - Essential

  • 5 GCSEs (A-C Grade) or equivalent including mathematics (also useful IT, DT)
  • PC literate with accurate keyboard skills; Word / Excel; record keeping, data entry, report writing
  • Valid Driver's License /Ability to Visit Client Sites

Desirable not essential

  • BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management / Civil Engineering

Experience

  • Industry / Estimating Experience
